Dr. Giamos was born and raised in New York City. He was accepted to St. John’s University in 1997, with The Presidential Scholarship. There, he graduated with high honors with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Afterwards, he studied at the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Upon graduating from medical school he completed a preliminary year of Internal Medicine residency, at Richmond University Medical Center, NY. This was followed by a three year ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center in NY, where he served as chief resident, and graduated in 2012. Over the years he was awarded numerous awards for his academic achievements. He also worked on several research projects.
Following his residency, he entered private practice. For the last fourteen years he has been working and operating with excellent ophthalmologists, in various parts of New York state. He has extensive surgical experience. He has even traveled on a missionary trip to operate on underserved populations.
Dr. Giamos is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of multiple medical societies. He is available to see all individuals, regardless of background. He will perform thorough exams to ensure their eyes are healthy. He will also address any vision issues his patients are dealing with, both medically and surgically if necessary.
